Private Site: Kingsbury
European Metals Recycling (more commonly known as EMR) is a multinational company dealing in scrap metal, operating at over 150 locations worldwide. In the UK they have several sites, many of which are rail connected, and they are major figures in the UK railway stock disposal scene. One such site is at Kingsbury, south of Tamworth.
The site holds (and scraps) many rail vehicles each year and DMU vehicles are on occasion to be found here. The most recent resident was a restored Class 115 set which could not find a buyer following departure from the Barry Island Railway. The set was sold for scrap but EMR admirably stored the vehicles and tried to find a future buyer for them.
