Private Site: Nemesis Rail
Nemesis Rail is a commercial company that provides maintenance, overhaul, modification and painting to rail vehicles for train operators and private owners. Established in 2007, their engineering base is on the mainline connected ex wagon works at Burton-on-Trent.
Whilst focus is mainly on commercial contracts, they have developed a heritage interest and over the years gained ownership of a number of classic diesel locomotives.
In 2018 they purchased their first railcar in the form of derelict AC Cars Railbus 79976, which was facing scrapping at its previous home.
As well as the resident railbus, occasionally other DMU vehicles can be found on site receiving contract repair work.
In 2022, a large portion of the preserved Class 107 fleet (5 cars) was sold to Nemesis Rail, who added them to their heritage collection. Unlike the railbus which was essentially kept for the future, a 2-car 107set was quickly overhauled for heritage railway hire use from 2024.
A Class 1073-car set remains on site.
