Poulton & Wyre Railway
The Poulton & Wyre Railway is one of the younger heritage line revival projects, having been establed in 2006. Their long term aim is to fully reopen the section of line from Poulton and Fleetwood, which closed in 1970 to passengers and 1999 to freight.
Following successful rolling stock appeals the railway purchased a Class 108 2-car set as one of the first items of stock for their growing railway. It would be quite some time after purchase before the set arrived on site, but from 2020 the Poulton & Wyre Railway officially joined the club of DMU hosts.
The railway is yet to run a passenger service, but is is hoped that the Class 108 may well be the stock used in the future.
