Royal Deeside Railway

The Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society was formed in 2003 to restore part of the Ballater line in Scotland, and their line runs for about a mile alongside the River Dee.

They are based at Milton of Crathes where facilities are gradually being built up. The line, most appropriately, has secured the unique Battery Electric Multiple Unit set, which was built for the line during the 1950's.

It is currently used as hauled coaching stock due to the high costs of battery replacement.
