Mangapps Railway Museum

The Mangapps Railway Museum is an unusual privately owned site founded and operated by the Jolly Family and associated volunteers. The site, located in Essex, houses a large collection of rolling stock and has a ¾ mile running line. A museum, several display buildings, and other attractions have also been developed on site.

Since 1993 the museum has been the home of a single DMU vehicle. Originally rare Class 121 DTS 56287, this was exchanged in 2004 for Class 117 DMS 51381, which was better suited to the operating role of being a loco-hauled push-pull trailer than 56287, which had by then gained some historical significance as a DMU in its on right.
