Preservation Modifications
Steps have been added to the rear passenger door to allow better access. It is believed the seating has been removed from the interior although further details are scarce.

Preservation Information
142047 was set aside at the same time as other preserved Class 142 units but was uniquely stored at Gascoigne Wood yard for significantly longer than any others. It therefore became the final Class 142 to enter preservation when the DMSL half of the set, 55638, was eventually secured for private static use at Stowbridge in Norfolk, north of Downham Market.

55638 was placed on private premesis adjacent to the Ely-Kings Lynn line and quickly repainted externally into BR blue livery with a "Stow Bridge" fixed destination on the cab front.

Further details have been scarce.

Future Plans
It is assumed the vehicle is intended to continue in its static role.
