Preservation Information
143618 became the 11th of the class to be preserved, transferring from former operator Great Western Railway to the Plym Valley Railway who wanted another Second Generation 14X unit to join their existing 142023.

The unit was in good condition and made its first test run down the line three weeks after arrival. it made its passenger debut a week after that. Before entering service, the GWR logos on the cab ends and bodysides were changed to PVR in the same style!

143618 remains an operational part of the Plym Valley fleet and shares services with 142023, occassionally running in 4-car formations on special days.

Future Plans
To maintain in service. The Plym Valley Railway have stated that they plan to keep 143618 in its GWR Green livery with modified PVR branding.
