Preservation Information
153374 was the first bogied second generation DMU to enter preservation, ironically without its bogies! Disposed of earlier than other complete examples, 153374 had been used for spare parts by Transport for Wales having been cascaded from its previous operator East Midlands Railway. Part of the preservation deal was that its bogies were not included and was therefore a body only.

In early 2023 the vehicle arrived at The Cab Yard based at the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway, suitably offloaded by crane.

Some parts were subsequently sourced for the vehicle to make it look more complete and therefore attractive, such as replacement headlight units.

Future Plans
It is planned to turn the body into the cafe for The Cab Yard museum. Further securing of the exterior, notably repalcement doors, and other parts to make it suitable, will be required.
