Preservation Modifications |

Preservation Information 51396 remained in storage undercover inside the LMMR's sizable shed and received some limited restoration work and the engines were started on several occations. In February 2013 51396 was put up for sale as the railway wanted to create space on site and to concentrate on the restoration of fellow residents 52029 & 55019. After purchase two months later the vehicle was relocated to Peak Rail. During 2014 the restoration of 51396 was started on a contract basis by newly formed Grinsty Rail. After some limited work, 51396 was moved on in January 2018 into storage again in a haulage yard at Wishaw, before moving again to another private premesis at Redditch. In 2021 the owner instead negotiated a deal where several of his vehicles could be stored on the Great Central Railway, 51396 making the move in July. 51396 has remained in store there ever since. |
