Preservation Information By the early 2000's a Class 127 3-car set had been formed in which 59609 was the centre car, although not all of the set was in a condition to accommodate passengers. The set's condition was gradually improved with more areas being brought back into passenger use over the years, and by 2011 the full three cars were available for passengers. 59609 spent part of 2016 out of use due to suspected wheelflats on one of the other vehicles within the set. It was later returned to service. 59609 operates with51591 & 51625 in a 3-car set, although vandalism and mechanical problems with the powercars has led to 59609 spending periods either out of use or being used as hauled stock, whilst repair works have been undertaken on the powercars. |
