Preservation Information
144022 became the 11th Class 144 to be preserved when it was moved under its own power to the Wensleydale Railway as part of a convoy in October 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic however it was unable to enter passenger service.

In April 2021, 144020 was included in an umbrella organisation named "Wensleydale Pacer Preservation" which brought together the seven Pacer sets owned by various parties but based on the railway.

Despite arriving fully operational, 144020 did not enter service and was instead stored for five years.

In December 2025, 144020 was moved to Leeming Bar for works to begin to return the set to traffic.

These works are currently ongoing.

Future Plans
It is planned to complete some remedial attention before 144020 makes its passenger debut, potentially later in 2026.
