Preservation Information
144022 became the ninth Class 144 to be preserved when it was moved from storage at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (via a rail move to Worksop) to the Keith & Dufftown Railway railway by road over several days in early September 2020. It was the second of the Class 144 3-car varients to be saved which further secured the future of the rarer "Pacer centre car" type, of which there were only ten built.

144022 was fully operational on arrival but Covid-19 delayed its entry into passenger service by a year. In September 2021 it finally carried its first passengers down the line.

Future Plans
To maintain in service. A repaint is eventually planned but the livery has not been decided yet.
