Preservation Information
Purchased from BR in 1990, for many years the vehicle was used at Rogart Station for storage and holiday accommodation.

Little else is known of 51610 whilst located there, but by 2008 the rather dilapidated looking vehicle was sold to the MRT and Llangollen Railcars as a source of spares for their three Class 127 DMBS vehicles. It was moved to Butterley in 2008, and already several parts have seen useful service on the operational 127s.

In order to tidy up the vehicle's appearance, the front end was repainted yellow.

Since then, the vehicle has been progressively stripped of useful components.

Future Plans
It is planned for the vehicle to remain a source of spare parts for the Llangollen and MRB based Class 127 vehicles. The vehicle will not be returned to passenger use.
