Preservation Information 142006 was moved to its new home at the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railwayin February 2021 and was soon put under the care of the South Wales Railcar Group, a new organisation set up the same month to promote the DMU's on the line: 142006 joining existing resident, Class 122 55019. Being fully operartional, after some brief checks 142006 was undertaking test runs up and down the railway's short line. However due to the continued Covid-19 pandemic, this would have to suffice for the time being. In March 2021, less than a month after arrival, a crowd funding appeal was launched to raise £12,000 to repaint 142006 into early 2000's "Valley Lines" livery and dedicate the set (via naming) to ex General manager Tom Clift. June 2021 saw 142006 make its passenger debut in preservation. The following month saw the first preserved 142+143 to operate in multiple with 142006 joining with 143607 on a test run. The remainder of the year saw 142006 operating regularly on service trains, driver experiences and even Santa specials. 142006 operates regularly on the line on service trains and driver experiences. |
