Preservation Information It was later decided to reform the two sets and 56055 was paired with 51187 as the other two vehicles were in better condition. 56055's set forming a "maintenance spare" which due to a series of faults saw no use. In March 2007 a £10,000 Lottery Grant enabled a more thorough restoration of 56055 to progress. During 2011, electrical faults were being attended to which were eventually traced to missing components, faulty jumper cables and disconnected wires under the desk, to try and make 56055 "talk" to its partner 51205. 56055 was formed with DMBS51205 and entered service for the 2013 running season, enabling the other set to be withdrawn for bodywork repairs. 56055 continued in service until the end of the 2018 season after which all four Class 101 vehicles based at Llynclys, including 56055, were out of service for various reasons. 56055 is currently in storage awaiting resources for its return to service. |
