Preservation Information
51435 was latterly part of set 101690 and was withdrawn from the Manchester area in 2005. The vehicle was acquired by the East Lancashire Railwayas a source of spares. The vehicle was stripped on site, restoration never being considered. The parts from 51435 safeguarded the future running of the National Railway Museum’s Class 101 set, particularly 51192.
